Job Summary: The Reporting Software Developer will join a team of technology professionals working on a distributed payroll system. This position will be involved in the implementation, enhancement and on-going maintenance of our new payroll platform�s reporting infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
� Maintain and develop VB .NET, Windows� Forms based report design applications.
� Maintain and develop XML and XSLT definitions of payroll reports and electronic files.
� Maintain and enhance reporting related Microsoft� SQL Server database structures.
� Maintain and enhance payroll platform reporting and data integration infrastructure. This includes optimization of electronic file processing, output and storage.
� Work as team member within the schedule of a structured software development life cycle.
� Complete assigned release tasks on schedule.
� Follow current, best practices, for the creation of VB.NET code, SQL stored procedures and scripts necessary to meet specifications outlined in requirements documents.
� Unit test changes made to reports, report definitions and reporting applications and infrastructure.
� Communicate with other members of development team to coordinate related tasks required in the analysis, design, coding and testing of new or existing functionality.
� Make suggestions or changes that improve overall ability of development team to perform; operate in a high-performance culture noted for accountability, trust and open communications.
� Contribute to maintenance/improvement of quality of the code base.
� Contribute to payroll system technical documentation.
� Maintain and improve coding skills by keeping abreast of latest development technology, practices, procedures and toolsets.
� Other tasks outlined by Development Manager.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proven analysis, design and programming/development skills using the technologies listed below. Analysis and interpretation of business requirements, flow charting, and functional decomposition are essential skills for this position. A positive, team-oriented attitude and ability to stay focused in a fast-paced, rapid development environment is essential to fulfilling the requirements of this position.
Education/Experience/Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Computer Science from four-year College or university; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Primary experience should include: 2-4 years of VB.NET Windows Forms programming, 2-4 years of XSLT and XML programming, 2-4 years of T-SQL stored procedure programming, 2-4 years of Microsoft SQL Server administration, troubleshooting and optimization, 1-3 years of Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services development and administration.
