Alebrijes (ah-leh-bree-hess) are creatures carved out of wood and painted with Zapotec patterns and fantastic designs from the artists own imagination.
It takes allot of skill and patience to do both the wood carving, and the detailed painting. This is a one-of-a-kind Craft, (no 2 are the same) and not your average Big Box Store, mass-produced decoration.
